Will the project affect National parks, Historical and cultural sites?
Cultural and historical sites are not affected by Wastewater Treatment Plant, and no smell or odor should be experienced.
Will the wastewater treatment project cause serious constraints to the flow of traffic in Fujairah?
Construction of Wastewater Connection Network will not cause serious constraints to the flow of traffic in Fujairah. Where construction is to be undertaken, streets will be closed for only few days with an alternative route provided by coordinating with the Traffic Department responsible for the Concession Area.
Will there be long noise emissions during the construction activities?
Noise emission during the construction activities are unavoidable, however such noise will be limited to short periods. There after, the noise associated with movement of tanker trucks presently collecting and transporting Septage will be improved.
Will the construction affect the evacuation of Septage?
Construction will not affect the evacuation of Septage and its disposal, as the premises to be connected to Wastewater Connection Network will be identified prior to the commencement of work and have their septic tanks evacuated by Fujairah Municipality.
Will the project affect tourist activities in Fujairah?
Tourist activities will not be disturbed. However during the pipeline installation process, some short term disruption will be experienced by tourists and residents around the Concession Area and by those trying to access the beaches.
How does the Wastewater Connection Network affect the landscape?
The Wastewater Connection Network pipeline will not be visible as it is underground, and the impact of the construction activities on the plants and trees will be mitigated and rectified by preserving existing trees and shrubs, and planting new ones to restore the sight of roads to at least their original state.
Does the noise affect the workers?
Noise will only affect workers at Wastewater Treatment Plant and the main pumping stations, but appropriate mitigation and protective measures will be taken.
How will Septage be collected from the population outside the Concession Area?
Tanqia shall rely on tanker trucks for the collection of Septage generated by the population not connected to Wastewater Connection Network. This will constitute a significant reduction in the truck movement throughout the Concession Area.
What will Tanqia do with the treated Effluent?
The Effluent produced at the Wastewater Treatment Plant shall be utilized for landscape irrigation and other economic uses.
In which way will the Wastewater Treatment Project affect the sea water?
Positively affected, as the risk of polluting the sea water with untreated Septage will be eliminated.
What is the Socioeconomic aspect of the project?
